FOR THE MONTH OF, UH, OCTOBER, UM, WE INCREASED THE SECURITY, UH, BY $233,216 AND 30 CENTS, UM, FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF 15,245,340 AND 82 CENTS.

AND WE ASK THAT YOU APPROVE, UM, THE SECURITY REPORT AS PUBLISHED IN YOUR PACKET.

FROM A SECOND.

COMMISSIONER TRAVIS.

ALL IN FAVOR? AYE.

OPPOSED? ABSTAINING.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT.

ONTO THE BOARD

[3. Board and Commission Reports ]

AND COMMISSION REPORTS.

COMMISSIONER TRAVIS, ANYTHING FROM CITY COMMISSION? NOT AT THIS TIME.

OKAY.

COMMISSIONER SANDECK, I THINK YOU HAVE SOME REPORTS.

I DO.

THE TREE BOARD MET AND UM, PART OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO LOOK AT OUR ARBORETUMS AND SO WE DID THE DEERWOOD ARBORETUM TO MAKE SURE ALL OUR TREES ARE HEALTHY AND, AND OUR SIGNS ARE STILL POSTED AND SO ON.

THAT LOOKS GOOD.

WE, UH, ALSO, UM, WORKED ON OUR MISSION STATEMENT AND HAVE A NEW MISSION STATEMENT.

WELL ACTUALLY HAVE A MISSION STATEMENT 'CAUSE IT WASN'T WELL DEFINED BEFORE, AND WE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS ON, UH, THE APPROVED TREE LIST.

SO WE TOOK OFF INVASIVE SPECIES LIKE BARTLETT, PEAR AND ADDED AND MADE SURE WE HAD, UM, NATIVE SPECIES.

WE ALSO ADDED CATEGORIES, SO YOU COULD TELL THAT THE TREE NEEDS MORE OF AN ACID SOIL OR WATER OR SUNSHINE TO HELP WITH PLANNING.

AND THEN WE MADE AN ADDITIONAL, UM, CHART.

SO IF YOU DIDN'T SPEAK, UM, IN LATIN, THEN YOU COULD SAY, HEY, I JUST WANT A FRUIT TREE.

WHAT DO WE HAVE AVAILABLE? SO WE

[00:10:01]

PUT IT IN CATEGORIES.

WE PLAN TO PUT, WELL, WE'RE PUTTING THIS ON THE WEBSITE UNDER THE TREE, UM, TREE BOARD, BUT WE ALSO ARE PLANNING TO SEND IT OUT TO HOAS.

NOW, HOAS DON'T HAVE RESTRICTIONS ON THIS, BUT THIS WOULD BE A RECOMMENDED LIST.

SO, UM, CHARLES, UM, FROM THE CITY IS PLANNING TO DO THAT AND ARBOR DAY IS NOW DEFINED.

WE ARE DOING IT ON MARCH 29TH AT THE BRENTWOOD LIBRARY FROM 10 TO ONE.

AND OUR THEME THIS YEAR IS, UM, FAMILY TREE, MANY BRANCHES OF OPPORTUNITY AND OUR HONOREE IS SITTING RIGHT THERE.

MR. KIRK BEDNER.

YAY.

UM, THAT'S IT FOR THE TREE BOARD.

OKAY.

COMMISSIONER KAPLAN? YES.

FOR THAT.

UM, FOR YOUR LIST OF TREES, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU GUYS HAVE DONE A LOT OF HARD WORK ON THAT.

COULD WE SEND THAT TO DEVELOPERS? BECAUSE I KNOW HOAS PRETTY MUCH HAVE THEIR OWN TREES ALREADY DONE AND IT'S ALMOST TOO LATE.

SO TO SEND IT AS A SUGGESTED LIST, YOU KNOW, I DON'T WANNA PASS AN AMENDMENT OR SAYING REQUIRED, BUT AS A SUGGESTED LIST, IT'D BE HELPFUL TO SEND TO DEVELOPERS FOR FUTURE PROJECTS.

YES.

AND I WAS, I DON'T KNOW WHO PUTS TOGETHER THE, THE PUBLICATION THAT COMES OUT QUARTERLY FOR EVERYBODY AND, AND THEN THE MONTHLY NEWS BLAST.

BUT IF THERE'S A WAY WE COULD DIRECT PEOPLE TO THE WEBSITE INSTEAD OF PUBLISHING ALL FOUR PAGES BUT DIRECT THEM TO THE WEBSITE AND SAY, HEY, WE HAVE A NEW LIST OF TREES THAT DO WELL HERE AND ARE NON-INVASIVE.

UM, THAT WOULD, MIGHT BE, BRING MORE PEOPLE'S ATTENTION TO IT.

THAT'S CHARLES.

CHARLES.

OKAY.

ALRIGHT.

YEAH, WE'RE WORKING ALSO ON LIKE WHAT, UM, ON OUR WEBSITE, WHAT WE SHOULD INCLUDE, WHAT SHOULD BE CHANGED, KIND OF THOSE THINGS AS WELL.

OKAY.

AND THEN THAT'S ALL ON THE TREE BOARD.

I ALSO HAVE A QUICK UPDATE ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD.

WE DID MEET, WE PLANTED THE MILKWEED IN SMITH PARK AND THEN IN THE SPRING WE'LL DO THE POLLINATOR, UM, FLOWERS ALSO.

SO IF YOU GO ON THE MAIN TRAIL THAT GOES UP, YOU'LL SEE A BIG CLEARING ON THE RIGHT, KIND OF UP ON THAT BIG GRAVEL AREA AND THAT'S WHERE WE SPREAD OUR MILKWEED SEEDS.

EXCELLENT.

THANK YOU.

IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE? QUESTIONS? ALRIGHT, COMMISSIONER PIPPIN, WE'RE GOOD.

NO OTHER BUSINESS THEN WITHOUT OBJECTION.

THIS MEETING IS ADJOURNED.

THANK YOU FOR COMING.
